Animals are not ours to eat:
Why & how vegan:
ChooseVeg.com, VeganHealth.org, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, A Well-Fed World,
Vegan Outreach's list of plant-based substitutes to non-veg foods
Animals are not ours to wear:
We eliminate animal products such as fur, leather, silk and wool from our clothing. Some vegans choose or find it financially necessary to wear their clothing/shoes until they wear out, then replace them with animal-free items. Others donate those items to less fortunate people. Still others bury or otherwise dispose of the animal products. The important thing is that we educate and speak out for animals, and not get bogged down in debate and distraction.
Some options for leather-free products: Moo Shoes, Kind Walking (in St Augustine), Alternative Outfitters,
Also check stores like Ross for "All Man Made Materials", but you may want to be mindful of the human rights statuses of the countries they are made in.
Animals are not ours to experiment on:
Companies that test on animals
Cruelty-free companies
Alternatives to animal testing
PCRM's Humane Charity Seal of Approval
Support anti-animal-testing organizations: Stop Animal Exploitation Now, National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS),
Animals are not ours to enslave for entertainment:
